After years of exile the Dinka return to Bor, a garrison
town from which they had fleed during the 20 year conflict between the
Sudanese government and Dinka dominated Sudan People's Liberation Army.
During 2006 and 2007 thousands of Dinka left their areas of exile,
passing through Lologi transit camp in Juba before continuing up the
Nile to Bor. Women, children and the vulnerable travelled on barges
whilst men herded their cattle through often hostile country. People
started singing at four in the morning anticipating the emotional
return to their homes.
